Our mission with the Colavita wines was to find the best regions in Italy for each wine in the brand portfolio. Our Verdicchio comes from the Matelica appellation in the province of Marche. With the Appenines mountains to the west and the Adriatic Sea to the east, this growing region has distinctive viticultural zones, contributing to our Verdicchio’s unique flavor profile.
“Vita” is Italian for life. Not just life, but life lived well, full of passion for good food, good company and great wine. At Colavita, we believe in crafting wines worth exploring and sharing.
Today, the Colavita brand has tremendous consumer awareness and loyalty – the perfect time to extend the power of the Colavita brand beyond olive oil and their agricultural heritage and passion for handcrafting makes wine a natural fit.
Working together, Colavita and Terlato bring you great Italian wines under the well-established Colavita name.
The Colavita family traces its roots to the small town of Sant’Elia a Piansi, where, four generations ago, Giovanni Colavita founded the family olive oil tradition and Colavita Extra Virgin Olive Oil was born.
Over the years, the Colavita family became masters at the delicate craft of “tasting” and blending extra virgin oils from different types of olives grown in Apulia and nearby regions. This skill enables the family to produce 100% Italian extra virgin olive oil with a consistent fine quality – a skill that sets Colavita apart today from the other leading brands in the United States. Unmatched for freshness and flavor, Colavita guarantees quality.
Today, Colavita remains family owned and operated and is the leading producer of handcrafting Italian Olive Oil. A trusted family brand
