Wine Spectator 92 points - Focused, with a firm underpinning of tannins to support the black olive– and licorice-accented cassis flavors, persisting on the deftly balanced finish. Has power and grace. Best from 2015 through 2020.—H.S. (Oct 2 2013)
We chose to showcase the oldest block in the Red Willow Vineyard for this limited bottling of Cabernet Sauvignon. Located in the far western end of the Yakima Valley, Red Willow Vineyard is one of the oldest vineyards in the state.
Mike Sauer and his family own and operate this impeccable vineyard. The steep hillside and unique soil formations set this vineyard apart from neighboring Yakima Valley vineyards.
This Cabernet Sauvignon has old world aromas and flavors that remind us of a classic Bordeaux. Aromatic hints of licorice, leather, tobacco and pine needles are balanced with an elegant profile of coffee, rustic earth and olive. The finish is elegant and long with stable tannins and lasting flavors of black cherry and floral nuances.
