Colour : intense and bright purple violet with garnet tints. Nose: Complex with blackcurrants, violet, blackberries, turning to cacao and spices. Palate: well balanced and smooth tannins, full bodied. Strong fruity characters with a long finish evolving towards liquorice and toasted notes. Cellaring: Over 10 years if kept in good conditions at 16/17°C.

The legend of Vinus, the Heron, started on the Herault River banks, at the foot of Chateau Paul Mas in Pezenas. Languedoc Grands Crus and Grands vins, from our vineyards in Pezenas or Montagnac, at the Nicole Estate, make up this range, which is complemented by varietal wines with distinct character. Chateau Paul Mas is made of 2 Estates: the Castle and a 25-ha vineyard in Conas, near Pezenas, the cellar and a 80-ha vineyard in Nicole, near Montagnac. This is where we produce the cuvees Chateau Paul Mas, Vinus, Vignes de Nicole, Paul mas Estate and Paul Mas. Our labels feature Vinus the heron in front of the Conas castle. Clos des Mures: this plot belonging to Chateau Paul Mas is made of 11 hectares, in the area denominated as Cru Gres de Montpellier. It is surrounded by wild mulberry (mures) plants, hence its name “Clos des mures”. Exposure: The vineyard lies at 105 meters a.s.l. and it enjoys a South, South west exposure with the cooling influence from the sea. This is an ideal location for Mourvedre, with a direct view of the Sea. Our vines are Terra Vitis certified, which means we work them following sustainable viticulture practices. The production capacity is of 88.000 bottles.
