Bright yellow gold color with fresh apple aromas and notes of just pressed cider. Smooth and sweet apple flavor mingles with hints of peel and nicely balanced tartness.
Founded in the early 1990’s, Osocalis is a small, artisanal distillery located in Soquel, California. A small (100 gallon) antique alambic Charentais still, imported from Cognac, is used to produce brandies using grapes and apples from the cooler coastal regions of California. They have the elegance and finesse of Old World brandies with the fruit intensity and body of California wines. These brandies are highly recommended by Paul Pacult, one of the world’s most respected spirits critics.
|Produced from over a dozen different varieties of apples grown in the cooler coastal mountains of Northern California, the base cider is reminiscent of the ciders from the Basque region. Using traditional French distillation and aging methods from the Calvados region in France, the brandy spends more than a decade in barrel.
