Wine Enthusiast 88 points - Among the most aromatic rums, with a rich, thick caramel perfume. On the palate, this honey-colored spirit, made from a blend of rums aged from 10 to 30 years, is full bodied and viscous. It has an oaky flavor mixed with tropical fruit and a powerful burnt-toffee finish. Rather heavy on the alcohol; it ought to be a sipping rum, but it’s so boozy it burns the tongue. - K.N.

In creating 1703 Old Cask Selection, Master Blender Allen Smith selected the finest single and double distilled rums from Mount Gay’s oldest reserves. 1703 is a discerning blend comprised of the rare and noteworthy barrels that Allen has carefully monitored over the years. Forty four blends were necessary to reach the subtle, perfectly balanced and harmonious final blend.
