Wine Enthusiast 90 points - From chocolate maker Cacao Prieto comes an innovative Bourbon made with water from the Widow Jane mine in Rosendale, NY-an unusual limestone-rich source similar to those found in Kentucky. Aged for seven years in American oak, the spirit needs a little time to open up and coax forth vanilla and cola-like notes on the palate. Distinctly sweet on the palate, most of the flavor is on the finish, with a flourish of sasparilla, vanilla, cola and allspice.
Made with Pure Limestone Mineral Water from the Widow Jane Mine, Rosendale New York.
Widow Jane Whiskey is imbued with both the strength of the past and the forward looking energy of the world’s most magnificent and maddening metropolis.
New York’s most iconic structures were built using the limestone from this mine, the Empire State Building, the Brooklyn Bridge, and the Statue of Liberty.
As great whiskey makers throughout the world from Kentucky to Scotland have long known, it takes sweet water from tough rock to make great whiskey. And, that’s what Widow Jane Whiskey is all about.

The Pumphouse name comes from the many lonely little
shack-like structures which weather the elements in the farm fields on the East End of Long Island. Used to house irrigation wells, pumps, and valves, these venerable buildings are part of the farm landscape where the grapes for these wines are grown.
