Ultimate Beverage Challenge 88 points - Alluring crimson/ruby color. Offers subtle notes of strawberry, black plum, and loganberry in the softly ripe bouquet. Slightly toasty, dried berry fruit, ample acidity, mildly spicy/peppery flavors make for pleasant quaffing. (Jun 2014)
In the glass the wine presents with a transparent cherry color. On the nose there is a brambly strawberry aroma followed by black cherry and cinnamon spice. On the palate the wine is light to medium-bodied with a low intensity of fine-grained tannins and mouth-watering acidity. The flavors are a pleasant combination of black cherry fruit with hints of cinnamon spice and bitter-sweet chocolate. The finish is clean with lingering flavors similar to the palate.
