This Sauvignon Blanc is a light yellow with reflections of green. The pretty bouquet is intense fruit and fl owers which transfers to the palate with nuances of elder blossom and ripe fruit. This elegant crisp sauvignon has a persistent gentle finish.
"The Sauvignon grapes are hand-picked for this classic wine from parcels in the Northeastern area of the Andriano vineyards. This area is known for producing Sauvignon Blanc with wonderful acidity and fresh aromas because of the cooler climate and longer growing season. The grapes are vinified in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature. The wines are allowed to mature on the fine lees for 6 months before bottling."
"Cantina Andriano was founded in 1893 and was the first cooperative in Alto Adige. The vineyards are unique to the area because they are protected to the west by Mount Gantkofel which is made of dolomite rock and calcareous stone and leaves its footprint in the wine's character. The vineyards see the sun from early morning to mid afternoon. These cooler climatic conditions with respect to other areas in Alto Adige are responsible for the crisp acidity in the wines that give them their unique complexity and freshness. The wines are elegant with good ageing potential."
