Wine Advocate 87 points - More fresh and focused than normal (which is to be expected given the vintage, and Philippe commented that they couldn’t find good Grenache for this cuvee), the 2013 Cotes du Rhone Rose has bright cranberry and strawberry aromatics, medium-bodied richness and bright acidity. Drink it over the coming year. (Dec 2014)
The wine is drawn off the skins after a brief maceration and long temperature controlled fermentation producing a wine that had a clear, brilliant and fresh color with fresh aromas that are an expressive of red fruits and citrus with notes of raspberry and redcurrant. On the palate the wine is fruity (similar to the nose), fine and round. A well-balanced and elegant wine. Serve with sarters, Grilled fish, white meat, poultry. This seductive wine has already won many blind tasting facing worldwide recognised and established roses. This wine is amongst the best examples of the Guigal quality range.
