90 PTS – Wine Spectator
"Open-knit and accessible, with a ripe edge to the flavors of black cherry coulis, fruit cake, licorice and graphite-tinged mineral. Well-balanced, showing fine tannins throughout. Drink now through 2020."
90 PTS – The Wine Advocate
"One of the nicest yet from this historic estate at the heart of Valpolicella. The Tommasi family has crafted a balanced expression with dark fruit, prune and loads of moist chewing tobacco. It is overtly sweet in the mouth and will appeal to those who enjoy the power and opulence of this unique Italian wine. It's almost ready to drink now but could use a year or two to integrate. Drink 2013-2022."
Deep ruby red color with garnet shades. Warm, ripe on the nose, intense and of great refinement. The taste is complex, smooth and full-bodied, with lots of cherry notes and plum.
|Red meat, game, mature cheeses. Excellent after-dinner wine
