ABSOLUT MANDRIN was launched in 1999, 20 years after ABSOLUT VODKA. Itís the fourth flavored ABSOLUT in the row after PEPPER, CITRON and KURANT. And since mandarin and orange are among the most popular flavors in the world, ABSOLUT MANDRIN was received with the same enthusiasm as the rest of the family members.
ABSOLUT MANDRIN is made exclusively from natural ingredients, and unlike most other flavored vodkas, it doesnít contain any added sugar. Itís complex, smooth and mellow with a fruity mandarin and orange character mixed with a note of orange peel.
In 1879, Lars Olsson Smith introduced the continuous distillation with which he made Absolut Rent Bršnvin (Absolute Pure Vodka). Instead of the usual three or four times, the vodka was distilled an infinite number of times. ABSOLUT MANDRIN is made the same way, the only difference is the taste of orange, mandarin and citrus. And, like the rest of the family, itís produced in Ňhus, L.O. Smithís birth town. Since nothing of that will change, neither will the true taste of ABSOLUT MANDRIN.
The main ingredients in ABSOLUT MANDRIN are ABSOLUT VODKA and orange, mandarin and citrus flavor. ABSOLUT VODKA is made from water and winter wheat. The water comes from a deep well in Ňhus where itís protected from impurities. The winter wheat is also grown in Ňhus and differs from other crops: itís sown in fall, and harvested the next one. Days in between it grows under the Swedish snow developing its hard grain. Also, the use of fertilizers is minimized. Though mandarin and orange is the main flavors, other citrus fruits are added to give ABSOLUT MANDRIN its perfect character.
