Connoisseur's Guide 95 points - A delicate rosé, with a smoky undertow and hints of black cherry and nut. There’s a creaminess to the texture and a ripeness overall, with a modest finish. Drink now. 1,000 cases imported. –BS
Wine & Spirits 93 points - All raspberries and red currants, this is a delicious, instantly approachable wine. It also has a more complex side, intense acidity, a tight texture followed by a juicy fruit character. It is a wine for celebration as well as more serious appreciation. R.V.

"Although so rich and yeasty that images of fresh-baked brioche leap to mind, this lovely, wonderfully refined wine comes with a marked boost in fruitiness compared to its stylistic peers. There is something akin to California fruit deep down at its heart, and while it has real Rosé richness and weight, it is low in astringency and is just about as polished as they come. (Dec 2010)" - CG 95
"[$349 list] This rosé's brisk mousse suspends tart cherry flavors over a delicate web of structure. The mousse is part of that web, as is the edgy acidity and light, tight tannin, all merging together into a firm, evanescent pinot noir. This has the clarity and purity that pinot can attain in Champagne, a pristine limestone beauty to pour as guests arrive for dinner. (Dec 2010)" - WA 93
"Pale orange-pink. Spicy strawberry and raspberry aromas are complicated by blood orange, floral and smoky mineral qualities. Medium in weight, with firm, focused red fruit flavors joined by a juicier pear note on the back. Showing a youthfully restrained personality today I'd give it a couple years to gain more richness." - ST
Fleur de Champagne Rose combines all the qualities of a great rose champagne: sophistication, finesse, delicacy and subtle, fruity aromas. The transparency of the magnificent flower bottle reveals the eye-catching pink tint.
| Wine maker notes |
| The grapes are pressed in Cramant on Perrier-Jouët’s traditional wooden presses. After it is racked, the clear juice is transported to Épernay for fermentation. In the cellar, modern stainless steel tanks provide precise temperature control for the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations of the base wine. Once all the base wines are fermented and racked, Chef de Caves Hervé Deschamps begins to meticulously taste from over 300 separate wines to choose the most outstanding lots, which are masterfully blended into the final cuvée. In order to preserve the airy elegance of the rosé, Hervé opts to age the wines for four to five years as opposed to the standard six to seven years. |
