Ultimate Beverage Challenge 91 points - Creamy, sweet caramel, light maple syrup and toasty oak with a rippling and pungent acidity; a clean, delicate yet powerful expression. (Mar 2012)
Wine Enthusiast 90 points - The opening whiffs detect the buttery, resiny and lightly baked presence of oak barrels; following further air contact, more vegetal aromas appear, including green pepper, green olive, candle wax and garden flowers. The palate entry accentuates the oak-barrel sweetness while the midpalate adds succulent notes of cream, caramel and light honey. Concludes sweet, silky in texture, and classy.

Each agave plant chosen for Milagro's Select Barrrel Reserve is hand picked in the highlands of Jalisco, Mexico at the peak of ripeness under the personal supervision of Milagro's Tequila Master. The agaves are cooked and then distilled, not once but three times. Time in the oak casks mellows and refines the tequila and gives the Tequila Master the richness of flavors he needs to blend these single barrel batches into one of the world's finest tequilas.
