Generous red berry and dark stone fruit flavors and aromas mark this robust, masculine Pinot Noir, and are offset by earth and spice notes in a vigorous, direct tannic structure.
92 PTS – International Wine Cellar
Medium red. Lovely high-toned aromas and flavors of strawberry, raspberry, maraschino cherry, blood orange, rose petal, woodsmoke and panettone. Concentrated, densely packed and serious, with excellent acidity giving shape and tension to the red berry and spice flavors. Finishes brisk and very long, with suave tannins. An excellent showing. — Stephen Tanzer (March 01, 2012)
Les Boudots borders the Premier Cru vineyards of Vosne-Romanée, at the northern border of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. The soil is limestone and marl, and an eastern exposure ensures ideal sunlight. The Pinot Noir grapes are fermented in vats for up to one month to extract color, aromas and tannins. The wine is then matured for 15 months in oak barrels before bottling.
