Wine Enthusiast 90 points - This is a beautiful, full rose that is rich and shows a fine balance between acidity and fruitiness. This bottling is also mature with toastiness coming through, giving a softer, rounder character. There is weight, and great acidity on the finish. (Dec 2013)
Wine Advocate 87 points - Virtually identical in encepagement to the corresponding white, but incorporating red Pinot from Bouzy, Clicquot’s 2004 Brut Rose offers abundance of fresh, juicy sour cherry accented with black tea and leather, a fine grain of tannin lending stimulation in a finish otherwise dominantly fruity and a bit extraneously sweet. I would plan on drinking this soon. (Nov 2013)
As the Rosé expression of the Brut Yellow Label, the flagship of Veuve Clicquot's thrilling and vibrant style, Veuve Clicquot Rosé is the instinctive choice for distinctive and romantic celebration. Its superb rosé colour with coppery accents brings an additional touch of audacity, modernity and romanticism… so Clicquot!
The wine has a luminous colour with radiant rose accents. The nose is elegant and generous, with initial aromas of fresh red fruit (raspberry, wild strawberry, cherry and blackberry) leading to dried fruits and biscuit notes (almonds, apricots and brioche).
On the palate, the fresh first impression is followed by a fruity harmonious sensation. In line with the style of the Veuve Clicquot House, the wine is perfectly balanced and combines elegance and personality. The wine works its magic - this delectable champagne is beautifully ample and full of charm. It is a delicious wine in early bloom, a Rosé with character, wonderful as an aperitif to be shared as a twosome or with dear friends.
